Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is manual manipulation of soft body tissues (muscle, connective tissue, tendons and ligaments) to enhance a person’s health and well-being. There are many different types of massage therapy methods and Patchogue Wellness Center is happy to offer your choice of ant kind of massage that is right for you.

Trinity Massage

A combination of holistic and therapeutic massage techniques, trigger point therapy, myofascial release and energy work. This unique massage addresses each person as a whole. The treatment is geared for general wellness upkeep, helping to address mild muscular strain and or stress in the body.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is a type of massage aimed at the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and fascia. Deep tissue massage uses many of the same movements and techniques as Swedish massage, but the pressure will generally be more intense.

Trigger Point Massage

Trigger points are hyper-irritable spots in the myofascia where the nerve enters the muscle.  These points often have referred pain patterns that can be felt away from the originating point.  The apotheosis uses deep sustained compression directly on the nodule to release the trigger point and relieve the associated pain.

Swedish Massage

One of the primary goals of the Swedish massage technique is to relax the entire body. This is accomplished by rubbing the muscles with long gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. Swedish massage is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension.

Prenatal Massage

Prenatal massage is a healthy way to reduce stress and promote overall wellness. Massage relieves many of the normal discomforts experienced during pregnancy, such as backaches, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches and swelling.

In addition, massage for pregnant women reduces stress on weight-bearing joints, encourages blood and lymph circulation, helps to relax nervous tension -- which aids in better sleep.
